Holiday Weekend Highs and Lows

Weekend Highs
1. We took off work and spent a extra long weekend at the lake with Maw and Paw. We had a wonderful time just hanging out, playing with Abe, watching movies, and swimming.
2. TW and I went out on a date Saturday night. Yea!!!
3. We found a different lake to go swimming at with a great beach just a few minutes away from our place. We had no idea there was so much to do around there because we are usually always out on the boat.
Helping mama pack.
My new favorite quote:"Trucks are red - Tractors are green"
Helping daddy and paw move some brush.
Daddy's big helper
Swimming in the lake and playing in the sand.
1st Doctor visit today:
Abe had his 18 month check-up with his Pediatrician this morning. He weighed 22 pounds and is 31 inches tall. He is between the 5%-10% in height and weight. He got four shots and was given a clean bill of health. It is so heard to believe that he is 1 year and a half old.

"Look! I am a big boy now."
The happiest kid in the doctor's office
Weekend Lows
1. The boat died. My parents have a 1987 Fourwinds that we got in 1989 and it is in mint condition for its age. It has been well taken care of but after 19 years of fun the motor finally gave out. We were not able to go out on the lake at all weekend.
2. Abe was outside playing with TW when I spotted a snake right by them.
3. Abe got spider bite on his arm before we left home. We had to doctor it every few hours to keep it from getting infected.
4. I pulled off a tick that was embedded in Abe's head on Sunday. Good Grief:(
5. 2nd doctors visit today (this is the kicker): TW and I took Abe to an orthopedic surgeon today because he falls down a lot more than a typical toddler. I booked the appointment over a month ago. We just wanted to make sure that his bones were developing properly and we wanted to get his left leg checked out because it turns out sometimes when he walks... Well the Lord was taken care of us because we found out that Abe has a fracture in his right leg that happen (according to the Dr.) a few weeks ago. We had no idea!!! You would never know it by just looking at him. He has been going 100mph and has not slowed up since he started walking. We were shocked and we feel total horrible but thankfully we went to the Dr. today. They put him in a cast and we have to go back in a few weeks for another x-ray. After the fracture heals we will hopefully get to the root of why he is falling so much.

Please pray for us and for a fast recovery for Abe. Even with the cast, he still has not missed a beat. Praise the Lord!!!

Kress,
Please take a lit TLC for you over the cast issue. When Hannah was little around 4 months old she started crying every time we picked her up put her down etc... After about a week we took her into the ped and found out she had a fractured arm. We have no idea how she did it and I felt horrible. After 4 weeks in a cast she was fine and we also found out she had healthy bones. We will be praying for Abe and his mommy and daddy!

Bless his heart. Give him kisses from all of us. He is just too precious to be in a cast. I hope he does well with it. What a tiny, little guy. We'll say a prayer.

God bless his sweet little heart...I am so sorry that he is having to go through this...but as usual he still has a smile on his face! And Praise the Lord that his momma had the instincts to call a Dr. God is so good in His infinite wisdom! We'll be praying for the little guy! P.S. Ray will LOVE the cast!

Oh Kress, what a weekend! Abe sure is a trooper!! I love his little cast--as far as casts go--it's cute. :-) He's so big, growing so fast, it seems like he was born yesterday!

Miss you so much!

I told you already my in-laws let my sister-in-law cry and whine for 3 whole days when she was 7 or so about a hurt foot ... turns out she had broken 5 bones! And father-in-law is a pediatrician!!! So don't bother yourself feeling badly about it. Abe won't even remember it anyways :)

Praying for a calmer week :)
