Contentment

It is amazing how much we learn for our kids. Contentment is an understatement when it comes to Abe. The cast does not bother him at all. He started walking on it within 24 hours of getting it and has not slowed down yet. He has not complained once and always had a smile on his face. What a blessing:-)

Seeing Abe this week has made me think about contentment in my my own life. A word study took me to this scripture:

"I rejoice greatly in the Lord that at last you have renewed your concern for me. Indeed, you have been concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it. I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength."
Phil 4:10-13 (NIV)

Are you content in any circumstances you face? Paul knew how to be content whether he had plenty or whether he was in need. The secret was drawing on Christ's power for strength. Do you have great needs, or are you discontented because you don't have what you want? Learn to rely on God's promises and Christ's power to help you be content. If you always want more, ask God to remove that desire and teach you contentment in every circumstance. He will supply all your needs, but in a way that he knows is best for you (see the note on Php 4:19 for more on God supplying our needs).

TRUE TRUE! Abe is definitely the picture of true contentment, no matter what the circumstances may be.

I love the picture with his pj's pulled up over the cast :) Cute :)
