Happy Birthday Maw Maw!

We had a party today celebrating Maw Maw's birthday. Uncle Tony and Aunt Kelly were in town so the whole family was together for the first time in years.

Family Beach Pictures

We made it home safely and Abe was wonderful the whole 17 hours. I could not ask for a better child. He is feeling much better and is back to his happy self. Here are some picture Paw took for us on Friday...

Beach Pool

Today we met Becky, Reece, Trea and Corey & Jayden at the beach pool for some toddler fun. All four boys (and the moms) had lots of fun.

Fish Fry

Last night we headed into town to join the Guttery's for fish fry at their house. The boys had a great time playing together. Abe has still been feeling bad but last night we finally got a few glimpses of his real self again as he laughed and played with the boys.

We had fried snook, hushpuppies, and roasted vegetables ... mmmm. Then the boys watched a little bit of Barney while the adults talked and cleaned-up a bit. Then, Scott and TW treated the boys to a game of Hide-N-Seek. Scott plays hide-n-seek with the boys all the time, but TW still managed to find a hiding space Scott had not yet used.

Fun At The Beach

Abe was still running a high fever yesterday but came out to play for about an hour. He did not move around very much but loved watching Reece and Trea play. His fever finally broke this morning and he is eating a good breakfast. Hopefully the worst is behind us. Here are some pictures from yesterday.

The Daily Beach Report

We have had wonderful day... praise the Lord. Just being here today makes us realize that it was well worth the long trip. We started our day at the local pediatrician's office. Thankfully Dr. Guttery (Scott's dad) was the one seeing patients today. He was very surprised to see us... but this was Abe's 3rd trip to his office. Abe and I can down to visit back in December, we were not off the plane and in the car 20min when blood was pouring out of his mouth. He busted his two bottom teeth the day before and somehow knocked them loose again. That was our 1st visit to see Dr. Guttery. The second visit was the same week when Abe came down with a bad case of the croup and 2 ear infections. His fever did not break 104 for 4-5 days. Today's diagnosis was two red ears and teething. This kid is going to hate Florida. We are hoping and praying that he is feeling much better tomorrow after the antibiotic kicks in. He has been really good considering his condition. Having my mom with us has been a hugh help.

After the doctors visit we went to my favorite place to eat in Fort Myers, Skyline Chili. I use to come down here at least 3-4 times per year before I was a mom to visit Becky (my college roommate) and we always ate at Skyline.
We also stopped by a Kids furniture store to look around. Abe just make himself at home.

Silly Willy

This afternoon we sun bathed, swam in the pool and took a walk on the beach. At 4:00 Scott, Becky, Reece and Trea joined us for a swim and for dinner. Abe staring felling much better when his friends arrived. Later on tonight TW and I went to play a round of putt putt golf. He won of course but I was the only one with a hole in one:-) Stay tuned for tomorrow's "The Daily Beach Report" from the Smiths.

Fay + Vacation = Craziness

TW, Abe, my mom and I were suppose to leave yesterday morning for the Mississippi Gulf. We checked the weather Thursday afternoon and saw that it was going to rain the whole week because of Fay. So last minute we decided to totally change our trip to a different destination. We wanted to go far enough south in Florida were Fay did not leave everything flooded. So we called RCI (timeshare) to see what was available. We ended up getting a condo in Ft. Myers Beach which was great because our friends the Guttery's live here. Our trip was originally suppose to be a 7 hour drive to Mississippi but our drive to Southwest Florida was 17hours. Last minute plane tickets were way too expensive. I know you may think we are crazy driving that far with a toddler but he was wonderful. He never cried and watched movies the whole time. He has been running a very high fever the past few days so maybe that is why he was so good. We are going to the Doctor in the morning. Please pray that he will get well and enjoy the vacation.
