Silly Mama

When TW got Abe out of the crib this morning, he noticed that the light was still on. Yes, Abe slept with the light on in his room all night long and I am the silly mama that forgot to turn it off. I have no idea how it happened but it did. It obviously was not bothersome to Abe because he slept all night. He has been a wonderful sleeper most of his life. He goes to bed at 7pm and sleeps to 7am and might wake up in the middle of the night on average one night per week. He also naps 2-3 hours every afternoon. We are so blessed. I am already embracing the fact that Smith baby #2 might not be so cooperative.

While driving around at work today I was thinking how hard to must be to sleep with the light on. I came to the conclusion that if he can handle that while sleeping he can handle anything (yea right). So I decided to move him upstairs into his big boy bed in his big boy room tonight. I am off of work for the next two weeks and this is going to be my project. This is were the silly mama comes into play again:
  1. Abe is not even two
  2. Down stairs vs. upstairs
  3. Familiar room vs unfamiliar room
  4. Crib vs. queen size bed

It is going to be a big adjustment for him. I will keep you updated on our progress.

Roller Coaster Ride of Life

This past several weeks have truly been a roller coaster. At the end of October, I found out that my company was going through a realignment December 1st, which is just a good term for a huge layoff. My direct manager was let go the 1st week of November and the panic set in. I only work part-time and I just knew that I would be let go before full time reps. After and month of complete stress and worry I found out on December 1st that I kept my job. Praise God!!! There were a lot of changes though. First of all, I got a new manager, a parcel new territory and a new drug to sell. On December 6th I received all of my new training material and started studying an entire new disease state and a new drug. This normally would not have been a big deal but I was suffering from severe nausea and vomiting from the pregnancy for the past few weeks. It got so bad that I had to go to the hospital last Monday due to dehydration. Thankfully my doctor switched me from an oral Zofran (for nausea and vomiting for cancer patients) to a sub lingual Zofran that dissolves under the tong so you can't throw it up. I have been getting better everyday. I left this past Sunday for new product training in New Jersey and it involved 10 hours in a classroom each day. I thankfully returned home last night. I am telling you that I have been on a wild roller coaster ride which makes me think of an old 4Him song. I looked p the lyrics and though I would share them with you. I can honestly say that the Lord has been in control and with me this whole ride.

Ride of Life
The wheels of life are turning
I feel I'm rolling down this track
And I know down deep inside my heart I can't look back
And though it's hard discerning
All of the fiction from the fact
You have led me to this truth and we have made a pact
And as we go through highs and lows
And all that's in between
It's good to know we're not alone
On this big scream machine

This roller coaster ride of life
Lifts you up and lets you down
This roller coaster ride of l ife
Spins you round and round and round
Heaven knows wherever you go
I will be right by your side
On this roller coaster, roller coaster ride of life
Roller coaster ride of life

So, when I hear you calling
'Cause you have hit your all time low
I will hold you to my side and I won't let you go
And when it seems your falling
'Cause life has got you on a roll
I will take the wheel and hit the brakes we'll take it slow
And as you go through highs and lows
And all that's in between
The Lord alone is in control of this big scream machine

This roller coaster ride of life
Lifts you up and lets you down
This roller coaster ride of life
Spins you round and round and round
Heaven knows wherever you go
I will be right by your side
On this roller coaster, roller coaster ride of life
Roller coaster ride of life

Abe's 1st Tent

Last week I took our comforter and draped it over the game table and made Abe is first tent. He played in it all day.
