Silly Mama

When TW got Abe out of the crib this morning, he noticed that the light was still on. Yes, Abe slept with the light on in his room all night long and I am the silly mama that forgot to turn it off. I have no idea how it happened but it did. It obviously was not bothersome to Abe because he slept all night. He has been a wonderful sleeper most of his life. He goes to bed at 7pm and sleeps to 7am and might wake up in the middle of the night on average one night per week. He also naps 2-3 hours every afternoon. We are so blessed. I am already embracing the fact that Smith baby #2 might not be so cooperative.

While driving around at work today I was thinking how hard to must be to sleep with the light on. I came to the conclusion that if he can handle that while sleeping he can handle anything (yea right). So I decided to move him upstairs into his big boy bed in his big boy room tonight. I am off of work for the next two weeks and this is going to be my project. This is were the silly mama comes into play again:
  1. Abe is not even two
  2. Down stairs vs. upstairs
  3. Familiar room vs unfamiliar room
  4. Crib vs. queen size bed

It is going to be a big adjustment for him. I will keep you updated on our progress.

Roller Coaster Ride of Life

This past several weeks have truly been a roller coaster. At the end of October, I found out that my company was going through a realignment December 1st, which is just a good term for a huge layoff. My direct manager was let go the 1st week of November and the panic set in. I only work part-time and I just knew that I would be let go before full time reps. After and month of complete stress and worry I found out on December 1st that I kept my job. Praise God!!! There were a lot of changes though. First of all, I got a new manager, a parcel new territory and a new drug to sell. On December 6th I received all of my new training material and started studying an entire new disease state and a new drug. This normally would not have been a big deal but I was suffering from severe nausea and vomiting from the pregnancy for the past few weeks. It got so bad that I had to go to the hospital last Monday due to dehydration. Thankfully my doctor switched me from an oral Zofran (for nausea and vomiting for cancer patients) to a sub lingual Zofran that dissolves under the tong so you can't throw it up. I have been getting better everyday. I left this past Sunday for new product training in New Jersey and it involved 10 hours in a classroom each day. I thankfully returned home last night. I am telling you that I have been on a wild roller coaster ride which makes me think of an old 4Him song. I looked p the lyrics and though I would share them with you. I can honestly say that the Lord has been in control and with me this whole ride.

Ride of Life
The wheels of life are turning
I feel I'm rolling down this track
And I know down deep inside my heart I can't look back
And though it's hard discerning
All of the fiction from the fact
You have led me to this truth and we have made a pact
And as we go through highs and lows
And all that's in between
It's good to know we're not alone
On this big scream machine

This roller coaster ride of life
Lifts you up and lets you down
This roller coaster ride of l ife
Spins you round and round and round
Heaven knows wherever you go
I will be right by your side
On this roller coaster, roller coaster ride of life
Roller coaster ride of life

So, when I hear you calling
'Cause you have hit your all time low
I will hold you to my side and I won't let you go
And when it seems your falling
'Cause life has got you on a roll
I will take the wheel and hit the brakes we'll take it slow
And as you go through highs and lows
And all that's in between
The Lord alone is in control of this big scream machine

This roller coaster ride of life
Lifts you up and lets you down
This roller coaster ride of life
Spins you round and round and round
Heaven knows wherever you go
I will be right by your side
On this roller coaster, roller coaster ride of life
Roller coaster ride of life

Life Update

Sorry, I have not posted in a while our internet is absoultly horable. We have Hughs Net which is $69.99 per month and is slower than dial-up after 5pm. Looks like I am going to have start doing all of our post in the mornings. The other reason I have not posted is because pregnancy symptoms have hit really hard. I usually post on the blog and applique when Abe is sleeping but now I am having to rest when he does. We are getting through it though.

We had our 1st ultrasound on Monday of this week and we got to see our sweet little baby. It is just still so tiny but his/her heartbeat was 122bpm which was awesome to see. We had strong reason to originally believe that we might be having more than one baby. My HGC levels were over 1,000 two weeks ago and I had them checked less than 48hours later and they were over 4,000. HGC levels normally double over 48hours not triple. In addition, my pregnancy symptoms have be coming on strong due to the rapid increase in HGC levels so we were thinking we might have twins. But our ultrasound on Monday confirmed that we are just having one sweet baby. Everybody keeps asking me if I am disappointed and I honestly though I might be. But once I saw my tiny baby I was just so thankful. I have to go back next week for another ultrasound to set my due date.

Good News!!!

After several months of infertility treatments and lots of prayers God has blessed us again. We're pregnant!!! Praise God, we give Him all the glory. We just found out and are not very far along. But I wanted to share our great news with you. Thanks so much for your prayers and support these past several months. Now we are praying for a good pregnancy and a healthy baby.

Gene's Tractor

Nothing melts my heart more than seeing Abe with my grandparents. They keep him on Wednesday mornings for me to go to CBS Bible study. Yesterday Abe helped Gene mow the leaves and he loved very bit of it.

Cotton Pictures

Jessica took some great pictures of Abe with her new camera. That turned out sooo good.

Farm Animal Party

Saturday we went to Grace and Lilly's birthday party. Abe had a blast but he was more interested in playing with all of their toys verses playing with the animals.

Halloween

Halloween was a great time. We went to Maw maw and Papa's, Pawpaw's and June and Gene's. Abe loved his costume. He was a super cute Frankenstein. Here is a picture of him looking at himself in the mirror for the first time. He though he was something.
