Silly Mama

When TW got Abe out of the crib this morning, he noticed that the light was still on. Yes, Abe slept with the light on in his room all night long and I am the silly mama that forgot to turn it off. I have no idea how it happened but it did. It obviously was not bothersome to Abe because he slept all night. He has been a wonderful sleeper most of his life. He goes to bed at 7pm and sleeps to 7am and might wake up in the middle of the night on average one night per week. He also naps 2-3 hours every afternoon. We are so blessed. I am already embracing the fact that Smith baby #2 might not be so cooperative.

While driving around at work today I was thinking how hard to must be to sleep with the light on. I came to the conclusion that if he can handle that while sleeping he can handle anything (yea right). So I decided to move him upstairs into his big boy bed in his big boy room tonight. I am off of work for the next two weeks and this is going to be my project. This is were the silly mama comes into play again:
  1. Abe is not even two
  2. Down stairs vs. upstairs
  3. Familiar room vs unfamiliar room
  4. Crib vs. queen size bed

It is going to be a big adjustment for him. I will keep you updated on our progress.

Sometimes you have to do what you have to do!!! I can sympathize with you on the whole "upstairs thing." Erik and I are the silly ones that bought a house with only one bedroom downstairs, so when the time comes for us to have a baby, he/she will have to have an upstairs nursery and sleep downstairs with us until we deem necessary. I don't thinks its that big of a deal, you have to do what you have to do. Thats why they make baby gates and monitors. :)

I am interested to know h ow it goes as well. With my last two girls 10 months apart we had 2 cribs for about a year and half. The reason being my middle was such a good sleeper and loved her crib, I was not willing to buck the sleeping pattern she had for herself. Kinda like Abes...
Godd luck girl and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I think you;re smart in doing it now versus after baby is here. Good luck with it. Transitions are sometimes just as hard on the parents. :)
