70's Party

TW and I went to a 70's party last night. Here are a few pics:

This is one of those picture Abe is going to hate me for when he gets older. But the whole purpose of this blog is to document our life.

Words Words Words...

Abe is just so much fun these days and his personality is really staring to shine. He tells you exactly what he wants when he wants it: "Im wanta eat,"Im wanta go night night", "Im wanta play" and "Im wanta go outside". I read the other day that 20month olds learn 10 new words per day and I just might have to agree. "No" has been the word of 2008 but he has recently learned to nod his head "yes" which to me is a huge milestone. Abe has great manners in terms of saying please (peas) and thank you (tankchu). He even says please in lieu of help. I often hear him in the next room yelling peas... and find him in some predicament in need of mamas help. We have also been working on saying "yes ma'am" and "no ma'am". But he just does not get it:

Me: "Abe say no ma'am to mama"
Abe: "tankchu"
Me: "No say no ma'am"
Abe: "tanktchu"
Me: "Okay thankch it is"

It's too cute:)

Lunch Time Snooze

This is so great. I am going to cherish this video the rest of my life. Today at lunch we looked over at Abe and he was falling asleep while eating. He would take a few bites, dose off ,then catch himself before his face hit the plate and eat some more. This went on for about 5 minutes I only got the last minute on video which mainly consist of him falling asleep at he table.

1st Time Out

TW and have been frequently discussing the lack of discipline that Abe requires. He is just a good kid and minds very well so far. I usually only have to tell him something one time and he obeys. I have all of these books on disciple just setting on my nightstand waiting to be read but I wanted to wait to read them until it was an issue. Well yesterday I picked up Abe at Mom's Day Out and he was in timeout. He attempted to bite another kid but was caught in the act. His teacher said that it was the first time it has every happened. I just hope and pray that biting does not become an issue. But it looks like I am going to start reading my 1st book, "Shepherding a Child's Heart" by Tedd Tripp this weekend.

Still Here

Sorry for the long silents. I am not sure were the time goes. I have just been spending my time doing other things than blogging, I guess. Things are great on the Smith home front. Abe turned 20 months old last week which is hard to believe. He is a very smart boy and so much fun. I am so thankful to be his mama. I have been spending a lot of my down time appliqueing, doing Bible study and watching "One Tree Hill" season 1 from netflix.. Here are a few picture of my latest applique projects.

Play Date Friday's

For those of you who may have not heard there is an open gym in Lakeland every Friday morning for preschoolers. It's 9:30-11:00 and only cost $5 per child. We have been twice and Abe loves it. I love it too because it gives me time to fellowship with other moms. Abe is just now at that age were he no longer walks. He is running everywhere he goes and this is the perfect place to just let him go. Shannon, Owen and Cork met us there Friday for the fun. Here are pictures from our adventure.

Family Together Again

The Jones family has not all been together since my Grandfather passed away in 1997. I hated that a funeral had to bring us all together again but it was nice to see and visit with everyone. Here are a few pictures of Abe with Christian, my 1st cousin Jennifer's little boy. He is only a few months younger than Abe. They had a great time together these past few days.

So Sad...

I have been putting off this post for the past several days. I don't even know what to write but I wanted to share with you the sadness of this week. On Tuesday morning my 1st cousin Mandy(39) died. She was always full of life and kept everyone laughing. We will terribly miss her crazy self. Please keep our family in your prayers as everyone deals with this tragedy.
